I left you at the point where we had went for a visit at my grandparents' house. We arrived there on Friday and left Saturday afternoon to head back to my parents'. All the pictures I took from Saturday where so similar to Friday's that I didn't bother posting them. All we really did that day was fish some more and them drive back to my parents' house.
Sunday we went to church again and then stopped by my sister's house for a visit.
That Tuesday I went to Silver Dollar City with my in-laws. Silver Dollar City is located in Branson, MO, which is a really touristy area. It is an amusement park that is set up to feel like an old time setting. We drove down for the day, enjoyed shows, rides and good food, then drove back to Springfield. I don't have any pictures from this because I took them all on a disposable camera that I have yet to get developed. Maybe I will post some later.
Wednesday I went to Celebration City with Karen and her boyfriend, Brian. Celebration City is the sister theme park to Silver Dollar City. It has mostly rides and the setting is just what you would expect for an amusement park, as opposed to being dated. Kaedyn was scared to go on most rides, but Kylie, my daredevil, had a blast and wanted everything to go faster. She was super bummed that she was too short to ride the wooden coaster. I went though and it was a great time!!
Thursday we had all planned to go to the Springfield Cardinals baseball game. The Springfield Cardinals are the St. Louis Cardinal's AA team. I was looking forward to going, but had decided that I would rather spend the evening to myself, so I just sent the kids with my parents.
Meanwhile, I stayed at my parents and watched movies and just relaxed. I was just as much fun to me to have some much needed alone time.
Friday was a bit more eventful day. It started off by my dad and I taking Rob's truck in to get his windows tinted as a surprise for him when he gets home. I wouldn't normally blog about if it were a surprise, but he, infortunately, found out about it, so it doesn't really matter anymore. Oh well, I should have known I couldn't surprise that man. He always finds out.
The day continued with my dad, me and the kids going to my mom's work to pick her up so we could head up to Bolivar, MO, which is 30 miles north of Springfield, to watch my brother-in-law (sister's husband) graduate from SBU with his Master's Degree. My mom works for the MO Dept of Conservation, so she had aksed us to come early because she had susrpise for the kids.
After picking up my mom, my parents, the kids, and I went out to visit my other grandmother's gravesite. She was my mom's mom, and she was English. I have had many laughs in my life because of my Grandma Looney (that was her last name). She was an amazing woman and not a day passes that I don't wish she were here to see my children and witness the woman I have become. I really wanted to take my kids to see her site since they never got to meet her in the flesh. I explained to them where they were and I think they understood as much as they needed to. Rest in peace Grandma. I will always cherish the memories we have had.
After this, it was finally off to Bolivar for the graduation. My sister was very proud of her husband. She had received her Master's Degree a few years ago, so she understood what an honor it was to receive the degree. After the graduation we all went to eat Mexican food, then my parents, the kids, and I went home.
Alright, look at the blog above to see what else you have missed these past few weeks!
